Garfield Hughes has been the Vice President of Business Planning and Special Projects for Theotis since 2003. Prior to joining Theotis, Garfield spent 31 years in an industrial engineering capacity with DaimlerChrysler.

Garfield’s areas of expertise include: fiscal planning and management, staff training and development, and ergonomics

Fiscal Planning – Garfield developed the budgeted work standards for all Jeep/Truck assembly plants for direct and indirect labor manning. This reduced operating cost at plants by 6% yearly.

Staff Training – Garfield improved engineering operational and theoretical knowledge through implementation of formal training seminars. He also helped to increase employee involvement with base operation and management by clearly defining projects and effectively delegating tasks.

Ergonomics – Garfield collaborated on and implemented an ergonomics training program to educate, on the theory of constraints, to optimize worker interface with tools, facilities, and process, to build better vehicles faster with higher quality, lower cost, and fewer injuries.

Since joining Theotis, Garfield has helped us build and execute our business plan. He has also acted as one of our primary business development leads. Garfield’s unique blend of expertise and knowledge has helped Theotis become a successful business and has been instrumental in maintaining the safety and quality of our facilities.
